What? For more than a year, from March 13, 2020, until now, all creative and sports activities in the premises have been prohibited in Latvia. Our professional circus artists try to maintain their level of craftsmanship, trapped in their living rooms. For 13 months now, our amateur circus studio students have been seeing their study friends and teachers only on Internet computer or telephone screens. For 13 months now, all cultural and entertainment events have been banned in Latvia, and there are limited opportunities for gatherings in the open air. Latvia's climatic conditions are not adapted for holding circus performances in the open air. Unfortunately, our government does not plan to change anything in the coming months ... However, World Circus Day is coming! Our circus organization “Circus Artists Association” has prepared for the charity event “CATCH THE WONDER” dedicated to World Circus Day with the participation of Latvian circus artists and circus students. Both seniors of our circus and representatives of various social and ethnic groups will be invited as spectators. The project of our charity event “CATCH THE WONDERFUL” has received co-financing within the framework of the Social Integration Program of the Education, Culture and Sports Department of the Riga City Council. The event date is currently being changed. It will not happen on World Circus Day, as we wanted. At the moment, we hope that this will happen on May 21. We plan that everyone who wants to will be able to see our event because we will offer a connection live. But today we invite everyone to get acquainted with the video material prepared by us, which has been created by the participants of five Latvian youth circus studios together with the families of our professional circus artists.
