It is an independent quality assurance system, created and worked out by MEP István Újhelyi in cooperation with FMC, ECA, and the stakeholders of the industry. It is operated through the Big Top Label Committee (www.bigtoplabel.com).
BTL aims to distinguish circuses by quality, regardless whether they are small or big, traditional or new, with or without animals, touring or permanent, performing in a tent, arena or theatre.
In order to guarantee credibility and high standard, quality discrepancies must be screened in order to distinguish between good, average and substandard circus companies.
BTL is open for all types of circuses, therefore it could build a common platform for the divided circus sector.
