The Fédération Mondiale du Cirque is celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2024, joining the anniversary festivities of Prince Rainier, and the International Circus Festival of Monaco.
We were happy to enjoy the company of so many FMC’s member, supporters, friend, and invitees during the business program of the Federation.
Our members gave a brief resume about the most important activities in 2023:
Mr Kenneth Feld spoke about the experience, and excitement followed by the opening of the new program of the Ringling BB Circus, the Greatest Show on Earth; Wayne McCary, our Vice-President, summarized the developments of circuses in the United States.
Participants received information about the different possibilities to work for the recognition of circus arts in case your country is not a Party of the UNESCO ICH Convention.
Our guest speakers, Mr Sujit Dilip spoke about how Rambo Circus in India found the new ways to survive COVID, and continue working even more actively today than before; Mrs Laura van der Meer had a very interesting presentation about the Circus Ring of Fame Organization (CROF). This theme was very relevant, as H.S.H. Princess Stephanie, Honorary President of the Federation, and Wayne McCary, Vice president, are among the CROF Inductees 2024.
Mr Urs Pilz, President of the Fédération Mondiale du Cirque, announced during the Circus Directors’ Luncheon the opening of the Asian Branch of the Federation in Asia, in Macao, in 2024. Having the new office, run by our member, the Chimelong Group., Co. Ltd, we look forward to a major participation in the circus activities in Asia.
